About

Hi, I'm Jennifer!

Medicine has been my passion for over 30 years.

The more I learn, the more I love what I do.  I am board certified in both Family Practice and Psychiatric Mental Health.  I  worked in several specialties before Psychiatry, including Cardiology, Oncology, Women’s Health, Intensive Care, Infectious

Disease, Orthopedics, Case Management and more.

My diverse medical experience gives me a unique perspective both professionally and personally to solve more complex medical issues.

Many patients that have mental health challenges also have other health conditions. Assessing both improves patient outcomes.  In addition, utilizing genetic testing to see the underpinnings of anxiety and depression, as well as how an individual metabolizes certain drugs, helps patients to get better faster.

My approach includes laboratory and/or genetic testing as warranted, coordinating with primary care providers,  therapists, and referring to specialists as needed.  I also make a point of spending more time with patients as there is no substitute for interaction. I always spend a minimum of 30 minutes at every visit.

I care for patients age 13 and up, with a special passion for teenagers.  I have great empathy for patients that have been on many courses of medications and have not seen any improvement and have found that genetic testing, in particular, for these patients is especially beneficial.

My greatest moments come from seeing patients get better.
